GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORS
The Faculty of Law and the Center for Legal and Socio-legal Research of the Universidad Libre Seccional Barranquilla, with the aim of promoting new knowledge both in the legal and socio-legal areas, calls on the local, national and international academic community to present their articles for publication in Advocatus magazine.
The journal ADVOCATUS, ISSN 0124-0102, semi-annual publication of the Center for Legal and Socio-legal Research, attached to the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences of the Universidad Libre Seccional Barranquilla, indexed in databases such as Ebsco and Dialnet, we publish results articles research, reflection, revision, translation and reviews that meet the requirements for publication and are endorsed by our national and international peers.
The target audience is Law professionals, students and national and international institutions (public and private) related to the different areas of Law.
Technical requirements
Articles sent to the Advocatus magazine must be unpublished and the original Word file must be written at space and a half (including references), in Arial font, size 12, with a 3 cm margin on each side and its extension must not be greater to 30 pages. Articles will be received in Spanish, English, French, Italian and Portuguese.
The first page of the article should contain:
Title of the article, no more than 12 words. (In Spanish and English)
Full name of the author or authors.
At the foot of the author's name the following must be specified: Academic titles and institutional affiliation, position currently held, main address, city, country and email address.
At the bottom of the title of the article, it should be noted: source of financing of the project from which the article is presented (if applicable), subsidies and support received for its preparation.
The second page must contain: A summary of no more than two hundred (200) words, which must refer to the nature of the document, the general objective of the research, the research methodology used and the main conclusion or evidence of the document, in the language in which the article was written and in English. Likewise, the keywords that will facilitate the indexing of the article (maximum six) in the language in which it was written and in English must be indicated.

Items can be:
Article of scientific and technological research. Document that presents, in detail, the original results of completed research projects. The structure generally used contains four important sections: introduction, methodology, results and conclusions.
Reflection article. Document that presents the results of completed research from an analytical, interpretive or critical perspective of the author, on a specific topic, using original sources.
Review article. Document resulting from a completed investigation where the results of published or unpublished research are analyzed, systematized and integrated, on a field in science or technology, in order to account for progress and development trends. It is characterized by presenting a careful bibliographic review of at least 50 references.
Short article. Brief document that presents preliminary or partial original results of a scientific or technological investigation, which generally require prompt dissemination.
Case report. Document that presents the results of a study on a particular situation in order to publicize the technical and methodological experiences considered in a specific case. It includes an annotated systematic review of the literature on similar cases.
Topic review. Document resulting from the critical review of the literature on a particular topic.
Review: brief writing that informs and at the same time values a work or a cultural product; Its fundamental characteristic lies in describing and issuing an evaluative judgment for or against.
Letters to the editor. Critical, analytical or interpretive positions on the documents published in the journal, which in the opinion of the Editorial Committee constitute an important contribution to the discussion of the subject by the scientific community of reference.
Editorial. Document written by the editor, a member of the editorial committee or an invited researcher on orientations in the thematic domain of the journal.
Translation. Translations of classic or current texts or transcriptions of historical documents or of particular interest in the domain of publication of the journal.
Verification of compliance with the formal requirements: if the article does not correspond to any of the categories established by the journal or does not comply with the formal presentation requirements, it will be returned to its author, who may return it to the editor when meet the requirements. The Editorial Committee gives priority to the publication of research articles.
Publication arbitration: the Editorial Committee sends the shortlisted articles to anonymous national and international reviewers, who are selected for their high intellectual qualities and academic level, with master's and doctorate studies.
Advocatus magazine uses the blind evaluation technique, neither the writer knows to which peer the reviewer his article has been sent nor does the reviewer know who is the author of the article to be rated. Once the concept is issued by the peer, the Committee reserves the right to accept the article in the version that is presented or request modifications to it and condition its publication, which may be rejected.
The evaluation of the articles will be notified in writing, and if they are accepted, the authors will be informed in which issue they will be published, if possible. The receipt of an article implies that it has not been published, accepted or is under evaluation for publication in another journal.
Ethical Responsibility
Manuscripts submitted to Advocatus must include all author data (name, discipline and / or function, professional affiliation, full postal address, email). If the manuscript is signed by several authors, the author submitting the text is understood to have been agree with everyone to act on your behalf.
Definition of the author: the author is considered to be any person who has contributed in a significant way to the design of the article, the research that preceded it and its writing.
Submitting a manuscript implies that it is approved by all co-authors, and that it is not subject to any other publication in the state, or in another language.
Data collection or having participated in any technique are not considered criteria for obtaining the author's profile.

Each author agrees to expressly assign the economic rights derived from the publication of his work; To do so, you must fill out the copyright transfer form.
Bibliographic references
Bibliographic and other references will be consigned in accordance with the standards of the sixth edition of the American Psychological Association (APA).
