Mediation as a means of effective protection, so that the parties to the conflict reach an understanding in order to achieve social peace through an impartial third party, called mediator. The distinction between mediation and arbitration is analyzed. Its intimate relationship as a method of conflict resolution. It also presents the defining principles of mediation, such as voluntariness, confidentiality and equality of the parties and equity. The activity of the mediator in the useful life and in particular in sport as a fundamental right, through sport mediation.
