Public higher education in Colombia: a legal perspective from the social contract

Abstract

This research article aims to analyze the lessons learned and challenges of transitional justice. To this end, it employs a historical-comparative method between Latin America and Colombia. It was established that there has been substantial progress in the field of Transitional Justice, which is based on the principles of truth, justice, reparation, and non-repetition, placing special emphasis on victims. However, despite the progress made, the armed conflict continues. The article concludes that it is necessary to complement transitional justice with other measures, such as strengthening social reintegration, economic development, and the presence of the state in regions affected by the conflict.
