Crisis of saving ano creoit cooperatives

Abstract

Toe purpose of this publication is to describe each of the versions that the public opinion and the cooperative members express about the causes and responsible for the crisis suffered by the solidarity saving and credit organizations in the 1990s. Toe methodology used in order to write this article was based on bibliographic sources such as degree papers; journals, and books. As a result of the exploration, two different versions were evidenced by each subject; the government that blamed the administrators of the solidarity entities for allowing bad financia! management, and on the other hand; the members of the cooperatives blamed the state for implementing policies that weakened the macroeconomic environment impacting the solidarity sector. Finally, it was concluded that the reasons described by the cooperative members are more relevant and it is related to the lack of disclosure and knowledge in the public administration of the values that solidarity economy has together with the criteria of social management.
