Abstract

Climate change poses significant threats and risks to food security. Natural phenomena such as
droughts, floods, and heatwaves affect various crops, reducing agricultural yields. Water scarcity, a
direct consequence of these events, limits irrigation and impacts the viability of many crops.
Additionally, pests, fungi, and bacteria thrive in these altered climatic conditions, spreading more
easily and contaminating crops, leading to significant economic losses for farmers. This scientific
mapping was conducted to analyze the environmental impact on food security. Tools like
VOSviewer and Scopus were used to identify key research in this field. The results highlight a
growing interest among communities in environmental security and the development of strategies to
adapt crops and mitigate climate change impacts. However, it is essential to continue research and
explore new solutions to counteract these climatic effects. Finally, an agenda for future studies is
presented.
