In a changing and competitive environment driven by globalization, companies must be resilient to the new challenges of today that allow them to remain and be competitive in the market. For this reason, this study seeks to analyze the factors influencing the durability and sustainability of small and medium-sized companies in the construction sector in Colombia. The systematic literature review method was applied to 55 articles selected from high-impact indexed scientific databases such as Scopus and Science Direct. Among the results are mentioned the different international standards, methodologies, and good practices aimed at project management that have demonstrated satisfactory performance. It is concluded that various good practice methods were identified, which can be applied to construction projects with positive results for the growth and sustainable development of organizations, being complemented with other factors such as interpersonal skills and practical performance
