Abstract

As is well known, the Colombian Commercial Banking (CCB) offers alternatives to work foreign trade, (imports and exports), and Colombia is a country traditionally importer of goods (consumption or capital), thus it is very important to know the mechanisms and what kind of options the CCB has when it comes to finance or pay for imports. The issue is crucial right now because the enforcement of many international agreements between Colombia and other countries makes it necessary that the companies know and manage different options to pay an import if they have money, but if they don’t have sufficient resources, then they should know how to finance and which would be the alternatives offered by the financial sector.
