The BIOCIENCIAS Journal is a biannual open access publication, publishing in BIOCIENCIAS has no cost for article processing (APC) or for article submission. The authors send their contributions free of charge, which are submitted to the process, and are notified by sending an official letter or email of the receipt and submission of their manuscript at no cost to the author.
Only articles written in Spanish and English are received, with a maximum of 25 pages and using the magazine template. The template can be downloaded at the following link: Article template.
The author must register in the system and submit their article in a 5-step process. Once it has been received, the corresponding author will be notified via email or may check the status of their article in the system.
If accepted, the author must make the corrections recommended by the evaluators and the editorial committee for subsequent publication.
CONTENT
Ethical aspects. Authors must obtain the informed consent of all the people included in the research from which the document submitted for publication was derived and the approval of an ethics committee.
Document submission: It must be sent to the email biociencias@unilibrebaq.edu.co or through the journal's Open Journal System, which is available at Revistas.unilibre.edu.co
Document characteristics: The work must be written in "normal" style
with Arial font of 12 point size, with left alignment, one space and a half, margins of 3 centimeters on all sides, using Microsoft Word, while the Tables and figures will be sent in Excel and photographs in JPG format. It must be written impersonally.
Summary and keywords. The abstract will not be more than 150 words, or 250 if it is structured, it must present the objectives of the work, basic procedures and their statistical significance, most important results and conclusions. Next, three to six key words or short phrases must be included, which must correspond to the proposals in the list of Descriptors in Health Sciences: (DeCS) of BIREME (Available at: http: //decs.bvs. br / E / homepagee.htm) or extracted from the Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) of the Index Medicus. There is the exception for terms of recent appearance that do not yet appear in the MESH, so the current expressions can be used.
Body of work. All works must contain an introduction, which will indicate the objective of the article and a justification will be made in a summarized way. The content of the rest of the document will depend on the type of article.
Boards. Tables and tables will be called tables. They must be numbered consecutively following the order in which they are cited for the first time in the text, and assigning each one a brief title. The corresponding title should be at the top of the table and the notes at the bottom of it (explanations should not be added in the header, but rather in the notes at the bottom). Symbols for units should appear at the head of the columns. In tables, the following order of appearance of symbols that may appear in footnotes should be used. *, †, ‡, §, ||,, **, §, ††, ‡‡.
Figures. Photographs, graphs, drawings, and diagrams are called figures. They are listed in order of appearance and their captions are written at the bottom. At the end of the captions of the photomicrographs, the staining technique and magnification used should be indicated. All figures must have sufficient sharpness and contrast to achieve good reproduction. If a figure or table has been previously published, the publisher's written permission is required and credit must be given to the original publication. If photographs of people are used, written permission must be obtained. The Editorial Committee of the Biociencias Journal reserves the right to limit the number of figures and tables.
Measurement units. All measurements must be expressed with the units of measurement of the International System of Units (SI), noting the conventional units of measurement in parentheses. Measurements of length, height, weight and volume must be expressed in metric units (meter, kilogram, liter) or their decimal multiples and submultiples. Temperatures will be given in degrees Celsius and blood pressures in millimeters of mercury.
Bibliographic references: They must be identified by Arabic numerals in parentheses and numbered consecutively, according to the order of appearance for the first time in the text. The list of references must be organized in strict order of appearance in the text, on a separate sheet, in no case in alphabetical order
