Reflecting around the current pandemic, COVID-19, and its pathogen, SARS-COV-2, the Colombian teacher this writes, passionate about the scientific method, asked himself about the goodness of viruses. In response, this scientific disclosure document emerges that shows evidence of the benefits of viruses, especially the priceless one, the generation of knowledge. By pedagogical strategy, the reflection is presented as the chronology of some scientific milestones that occurred during the previous century.
