Tako-Tsubo Syndrome
A case report and review of the issue
Keywords:
Tako-tsubo syndrome, Acute coronary syndrome, Transient ventricular dysfunctionAbstract
Tako-tsubo syndrome, or transient ventricular dysfunction, is a rare entity characterized by clinically indistinguishable from acute coronary syndrome with extensive enzyme elevation and anterior akinesia , but did not show significant alterations in the coronary arteries and regenerative changes segmental in the following weeks . The case of a female patient aged 75, entered the service of internal medicine, a private clinic in the city of Barranquilla, Colombia, with a history of recent exposure to acute emotional stress is presented; whose clinical characteristics meet the diagnostic criteria for this syndrome. The diagnostic process included performing cardiac biomarkers, echocardiography and cardiac catheterization. Subsequent treatment included the diagnostic management of their underlying disease and psychological support, with satisfactory outcome. A review of the literature was conducted.
