Materials and methods: observational, descriptive, retrospective cross-sectional study. The study population was patients operated on with a diagnosis of placenta accreta spectrum in an obstetric reference institution in Barranquilla during the year 2022. The variables measured were clinical and obstetric characteristics of the pregnant women, characteristics of the newborn. The analysis was performed in R software under descriptive statistics and graphical representation. The protocol was approved by the research ethics committee of the Clínica La Merced S.A.S.

Results: the study population was characterized by being patients mostly between 25 and 29 years old. 66% of the pregnant women were more than 36 weeks pregnant at the time of undergoing surgery. No maternal or neonatal deaths were recorded during the analyzed period. Regarding the sex of the newborn, 52% were boys and 48% were girls.
