Food security of Venezuelan children living in the Villa Caracas - Barranquilla sector

Abstract

The Political Constitution of 1991 establishes that a woman, when she is pregnant or after giving birth, will have a subsidy from the State; while article 44 says that they are fundamental rights of children: "food ...". In the article 46 it raises the protection of the people of the third age. Despite these constitutional guarantees, children of Venezuelan origin, settled in the Villa Caracas sector of the city of Barranquilla, are subject to the scarcity of food. The methodology used is part of the Hermeneutic Paradigm, with a mixed approach, the study method is the inductive - deductive one. The type of descriptive research. They are used as techniques and instruments: interviews, and text analysis among others. The population is conformed by the Venezuelan migrants settled in the sector villa Caracas of the city of Barranquilla. The general objective is to understand if there is a malnutrition, its characteristics and consequences in Venezuelan children living in the Villa Caracas sector. The main conclusion is the low income of the families since most of them claim to live off the hunt, they do not have a formal job
