The family as the fundamental nucleus of society must be protected by the State, in all its legal forms of conformation or kinship of these, different classes are established as is the case of kinship, by consanguinity, by affinity and civil. As a result of these relationships, the legal duty to provide food to family members is born, specifically in children and adolescents as outlined in Law 1098 of 2006. At present, the violation awarded to parents presents a high percentage of non-compliance, causing the omission of the rights of children and adolescents, therefore its effects are a sociofamily threat that would destabilize our social order considerably. The document will analyze the timely aspect of Family Law in relation to food obligation, exposing the current mechanisms of protection food law, enshrined in the Colombian legal system and international regulations. Proving through these the scope, effectiveness and enjoyment of Family Law and its connection with food security in Colombia.
