Tax system in the renewable energy sector in Colombia
Keywords:
renewable, energy, tax, benefitsAbstract
The purpose of this work is to present to emerging companies and those already set up in the country's energy market a series of tax benefits promoted by the government to encourage their increasing contribution to the generation and development of energy projects, particularly those involving unconventional renewable energies. This work follows a qualitative approach using a systemic method, as it focuses on the tax regulations themselves within the context of sustainable economics, based on a comprehensive and detailed interpretation of the regulations. Broad considerations were considered to assess Colombia's environmental and energy situation, highlighting the country's reality in terms of energizing the energy market. In conclusion, the investment and growth opportunities in the country's energy sector are closely linked to the tax, accounting, and tariff incentives offered by the Colombian government, whose primary objective is to attract domestic and foreign investment in the development and production of renewable energy projects, positioning Colombia as a leading country in environmentally friendly technologies.
