Guidelines for the reviewer

Indications for article review

The articles sent to the Journal of the Faculty of Medicine must strictly comply with all the indications for the submission of manuscripts indicated in the section "Guidelines for authors".

The article evaluation form can be downloaded at the following links: https://goo.gl/JdkvzD

Bibliographic references must conform to the Vancouver format. Special care is requested in the evaluation of keywords (DeCS - MeSH) and the structure of the abstract of the article for Original Research, Review Articles and Update Articles.

In addition to the formal aspects, the peer reviewers, within their expertise, must evaluate the importance of the content of the article and its relevance to the scientific community and whether the work should be published. The evaluators must answer each of the items of the evaluation form (in case of applying the type of article), give their comments on the matter and give their verdict, which consists of 3 options: accept without modifications, accept with modifications and reject the Shipping.

Accept shipment without modifications. (Accept Submission). Choose this option if you recommend that the shipment be accepted as is.

Accept the shipment with modifications. (Revisions Required). You think the article needs slight modifications.

Reject submission. (Decline Submission). Recommends that the article not be accepted.

Finally, the evaluators will be able to make comments to the authors to improve the article both in the blind version and in the evaluation format.

The peer review process of the Biosciences journal aims to:

- Verify the quality of the investigations before they are published.

- Identify errors inadvertent by the authors.

- Give feedback to the authors for the improvement of their research processes.

One of the fundamental requirements of peer review is confidentiality, and therefore we request not to share the articles reviewed with third parties.
