Abstract

Meckel's diverticulum (DM) is an embryological trace secondary to the persistence of the omphalomesenteric duct (yolk duct) during the 5th to 7th week of gestation. It is the most frequent congenital anomaly of the digestive tract, with a prevalence of 2% in the general population. Its diagnosis is usually accidental or incidental, during a surgical act, in the context of an acute abdominal complication or in a routine imaging finding. The clinical case of an adolescent patient is presented, with the diagnosis of an acute abdomen, at the beginning of which it is considered to be of appendiceal origin, with subsequent diagnostic rectification at the time of laparotomy, discovering that a necrotic Meckel's Diverticulitis adhered to ileocecal valve that conditioned a constricting effect on the terminal ileum that produced a picture of intestinal obstruction, therefore resection of the diverticulum with subsequent release of the loop was performed, with favorable results for the patient.
