La identificación del reflujo gastroesofágico fisiológico evita estudios innecesarios

Reflujo gastroesofágico (RGE) fisiológico, es el paso del contenido depositado en el estómago, de forma retrograda a la luz del esófago; en ocasiones puede llegar a la faringe o boca, e incluso puede ser exteriorizado en forma de vómito, pero la mayoría de las veces este regresa al estómago sin producir síntomas respiratorios, digestivos o generales.(1,2) Es frecuente la regurgitación y el vómito de variada frecuencia e intensidad, que en la mayoría de los lactantes de 6 a 12 meses desaparece asociado al crecimiento, la bipedestación y la ablactación . (3,6,11,12). Reporte de un caso clínico de RGE en un lactante menor, previamente manejado con inhibidor de bomba de protones, sin mejoría clínica. Se indica un abordaje integral de los problemas de salud, desde un enfoque preventivo, recomendaciones de puericultura y medidas generales antirreflujo, sin ordenar ningún estudio ni medicamento, con evolución clínica favorable.
